Jaques Coffee Plantation is an Agri-Tourism business in the Mareeba Shire with 85,000 productive coffee trees, a 130 seat fully licensed restaurant and café sits at the heart of the plantation, onsite roastery and gift shop. Visitors and locals can immerse themselves in a coffee experience and take either a short self guided tour or a longer fully guided tour both encompassing our half hour unique coffee documentary in an air conditioned theatre. Enjoy lunch by chefs using local and seasonal produce from the modern Australian menu or an artisan barista made coffee using house roast espresso roasted coffee beans from the plantation with homemade scones and cake. The gift shop is fully stocked with roasted coffee, biopods, accessories and other locally made products such as honey, chocolate, chili sauce, coffee liqueur, coconut and coffee oils, jams and Worcestershire Sauce are available to take home and order online.
A family owned and operated business employing up to 15 staff year round, now in business for 40 years in Australia and pioneering the Australian commercial coffee growing industry in the late 1970’s. Jaques Coffee is a proudly sustainable business adding further to its solar system in 2019, have a total of 470 solar panels now offsetting the entire operation from the farm pumping, tourist centre, roastery coffee driers and processing mills producing up to 1 Megawatt of power per day.
Another proud achievement is of the Jaques family is the design of the worlds first mechanical coffee harvester in the 1980’s which can still be seen in operation today as one of two coffee harvesters in operation on the plantation today.
